The United Progressive Pentecostal Church Fellowship is an Interdenominational network of leaders, Pastors, Churches and Para-Church ministries that reflect diverse backgrounds engaging in a wide variety of ministry forms to make an impact upon this generation. What's common is our passion for God, pursuit of God’s Spirit, inclusive evangelism and pioneering spirit. This pioneering spirit is reflected in churches and leaders willing to take appropriate Kingdom risks for Christ's sake. The end results are prevailing churches where renewal and revitalization happen.
History
Churches big and small. Old and new. A variety of denominations, locations, and ethnic backgrounds, all with a common goal — to reach ALL people with the Gospel of Jesus Christs and turn them into fully devoted followers of Christ.
How It All Began
Sometimes God starts small—sometimes just a mustard seed—but in His hands unexpected and big things happen. That's what happened in 2004 when OC Allen and a small group of 12 believers felt called by God to start a different kind of church where ALL people could come to a safe-place and not feel judged while God worked on them. They never imagined, though, that God might use them to mentor and encourage churches around the world. Building a fully functioning “Acts 2” church in the Midtown area of Atlanta Georgia seemed challenge enough.
But then, God makes no small plans for anything He does! As word of The Vision Church and Pastor OC Allen’s ministry impact began to spread outside its walls, church leaders began asking the church for help in translating its “whosoever” theology, programs and initiatives into something that could be used in their own churches.
By the fall of 2007, the idea bubbled up among Pastor OC Allen and many of his leaders to create a separate organization to serve other pastors and churches. Pastor OC Allen would gather several leaders that would get such an organization up and running and then spin it off to stand on its own.
Originally named, The Vision Kingdom International, Pastor OC Allen, several Elders, Apostle David D. Lay, Mother Annie Stewart, Mother/Elder Ruth Dankins and a special team of leaders within The Vision Church would begin the process of providing connection, leadership and programs for those outside of the walls of The Vision Church. In a short time, God sent the Bishop Donagrant McCluney and his pheonominal Episcopal and organizational skills to this vision. As the vision began to expand the name was changed to, The United Progessive Pentecostal Church Fellowship (UPPC); a name chosen to reflect the Acts 2 theology, mission and purpose of it’s vision.
Since it’s inception, the United Progressive Pentecostal Church Fellowship (UPPC) has been linking innovative, outreach-oriented church leaders with one another and with strategic vision, training, and resources. Now a network of Churches from various backgrounds and denominations, the UPPC works to equip Member Churches and others with the tools needed to build prevailing churches. Our desire is to inspire, equip, and encourage Christian leaders to build biblically functioning churches as modeled in Acts 2; churches that build believers while reaching increasing numbers of unchurched people — with innovations from any church in the world that has experienced God-given breakthroughs with widespread potential.
UPPC principles seeks to transform the world from the inside out. We welcome Churches, women and men of God who are Senior Pastors, Associate Pastors and leaders regardless of church size, denominational background or affiliation, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation.
