National Diaconate

In the United Progressive Pentecostal Church Fellowship, is a sacrament of Holy Orders in the Body of Christ.

Within the UPPC, two degrees of ministerial participation exist: the episcopacy (Bishops, Apostles and Overseers) and the presbyterate (Senior Pastors).  The diaconate is intended to help, assist and serve them.  Deacons are called to assist in these 5 areas:

  1. To complete the hierarchy of sacred orders and to enrich and strengthen the overall ministries within the Body of Christ.
  2. To enlist a new group of devout and competent women and men in the active ministry of the local Church with their gifts; through visitation, pastoral and member care, stewardship development, leadership etc....
  3. To aid the community through service, advocacy, justice and compassion.
  4. To provide an official and sacramental presence of the Church in areas of secular life.
  5. To provide a body of servants to the National Church for greater effectiveness.
